Muslin is a loose, open weave of cotton gauze. Six layers are stitched together, which makes a blanket that is soft and warm but still lets air through. The crinkled look is part of the fabric and does not need ironing.
130 x 150 cm is a throw for one person on the sofa. 150 x 200 cm covers two on the sofa or works as a bedspread on a single bed. 200 x 230 cm is the bedspread size for a 140 to 160 cm double bed and also covers one person fully when used as a summer blanket.
On its own it is a light to medium blanket. On the sofa it keeps you warm on a cold evening, and in bed most people lay it over the duvet as an extra layer. For maximum warmth from a single blanket, fleece or wool is warmer.
That is what it is made for. The open weave lets heat and moisture escape, so it covers you without the stuffy feeling of a duvet or a polyester blanket.
Machine wash at 40 °C, no bleach and no dry cleaning. It becomes softer and slightly more crinkled with each wash. You can iron it on medium heat, but the crinkle is part of the look and comes back after washing.
A little loose cotton fluff in the first washes is normal for cotton gauze and settles quickly. Wash it on its own the first time.
